"Seems" being the operative word here. You wouldn't think it was
a success if you were judging according to the IDM lists attitude
towards Electroclash. And, after all, we represent the cd buying
public (maybe more than you might think). I wonder who the intended
audience of this marketing campaign actually *is*. I am guessing
it is people like us (not the band). If you want Top 40 exposure,
and to sell millions of cd's you need it, you need the radio stations
to play your stuff, big, corporate radio stations.
Here is a TrackList for Elektroclash, a comp being sold in Virgin
Stores:
1. Get Me Off (Peaches Remix) - Basement Jaxx
2. Were Only Science - Dot Allison
3. Euro Trash Girl - Chicks On Speed
4. Hot Room - Linda Lamb
5. Aa XXX - Peaches
6. Do The Radioactive - Radioactive Man
7. Dont Stop The Beat - Anthony Rother
8. Life On MTV - Miss Kitten And The Hacker
9. Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass - 9 1 F
10. Love Explosion - Alden Tyrell
11. Red Leather - Peaches And Gonzales
12. Felix Da Housecat (The Grooveretro Radio Mix) - Ladytron Pla
13. Lucida Obsura - Crossover
14. Please Stay (Royksopp Mix) - Mekon (Feat Mark Almond)
15. Grab My Shaft - Louie Austen (Feat Peaches)
16. Vicious Game - David Carretta
17. Dark Times - Dexorcist
18. I Dont Care - Dexter
19. Shemale - Sir Drew
20. Plastique - Creme De Menthe
Are these artists hitting the Billboard charts soon?
